Local Attractions - Cavan Museum Cavan County Museum Cavan County Museum, a magnificent 19th Century building, is beautifully situated amid extensive grounds nestling among the east Cavan lakes and drumlins. A tour of the Museum through it’s elegant exhibition galleries trace the history and heritage of County Cavan from the prehistoric and pre-Christian times, to rural life as it was in the 1950s . Rare and precious artefacts on display include the 4,000 year old Killycluggin stone, three- faced Corleck Head, the 1,000 year old Lough Errol Log Boat, medieval Sheela-na-gigs, the 18th Century Cavan Mace, costumes, implements and machinery used by our ancestors. The museum also has a newly opened childrens playground.
